It is often said that people form opinions of others within the first five seconds of meeting them. Because perception is based so heavily on appearance, it’s vital that you put your best face forward for co-workers, acquaintances, and that special someone. Dr. Brian Maloney and the whole team at the Maloney Center for Facial Plastic Surgery have made it our mission to give people the face of their dreams.

What are chin implants?

Chin implants are made of a synthetic material that closely matches the natural tissue found in the chin, and are available in a wide range of sizes and shapes to match your facial structure. By making a small incision either inside the mouth or just under the chin, Dr. Brian Maloney can insert the chin implant into the space that is created. After about six weeks, most or all of the swelling will diminish and you will be able to enjoy your new facial shape.

What are some advantages?

Because the face is the focus during conversations, the chin has a huge effect on the perception other people have of you. A receding chin can make you seem weaker or less capable, while those with a strong chin shape or structure can seem more commanding, trustworthy, and resolute. The advantage of modern methods of facial plastic surgery is that rather than relying on genetics and luck for strong chins and other facial features, you can adjust your appearance to suit the real you. A symmetrical, strong appearance improves facial harmony and can boost self-confidence as well as moderate the appearance of other facial features, bringing everything into a pleasing balance.
