Radiesse® — calcium hydroxyapatite (the framework of teeth and bone) — has received several different FDA approvals over a fifteen-year period. Radiesse® is a synthetic and is a whitish implant with microspheres of the calcium hydroxyapatite. For many, when the implant is injected underneath the skin (the particles are too large for fine facial lines), their body will lay down collagen around the microspheres resulting in a long-lasting effect. However, some patients break down the particle within a few months.
Radiesse® Treatment Details
The procedure for Radiesse® treatment is quick and relatively painless because it contains lidocaine (a numbing agent). Dr. Maloney may administer a topical numbing agent to the treatment area to help with any discomfort of the needle injection. A very fine needle is used for the treatment. Radiesse® is injected under your skin where the lines and wrinkles originate. The entire treatment session takes less than an hour, and there is no downtime. You see immediate results that last up to one year.
Radiesse® is specially formulated to treat moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. To find out if Radiesse® is right for you, schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Maloney.
Benefits of Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment that stimulates your body’s natural collagen production to rejuvenate the appearance of your skin.
