What Are RHA Dermal Fillers?

The Revance RHA line of fillers, which includes RHA2, RHA3 and RHA4, is the first of its kind. No other hyaluronic acid-based filler currently fills in dynamic wrinkles, or wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements that we make when expressing emotion. Dynamic wrinkles commonly appear around the eyes, cheeks, nose and mouth. Unlike static wrinkles, which are obvious when the face is both in motion and at rest, dynamic wrinkles cannot be seen when the face is in a neutral expression. RHA fillers smooth away dynamic wrinkles while preserving the ability to move your face in a natural way.

Benefits of RHA Dermal Fillers

Dynamic Wrinkle Reducer in AtlantaThe primary ingredient in RHA fillers is resilient hyaluronic acid (RHA). Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule found in the skin and connective tissue. It is responsible for attracting and retaining moisture: It attaches to water in the cells, making them plump and providing cushioning and lubrication to the skin. But traditional hyaluronic acid fillers do not take into account the natural movement of the face, so the results can look stiff or unnatural.

The resilient hyaluronic acid found in RHA fillers is much more malleable than traditional hyaluronic acid. It can recoil and spring back to fill in expression lines without making the face look resistant to movement. The resilience of RHA fillers is an essential quality when treating dynamic areas of the face like the skin around the eyes and mouth.

Another special feature of RHA fillers is that they each contain a small amount of lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to minimize pain or discomfort during the injections. Rejuvenating aging skin does not need to be a painful process!

Candidates for RHA Fillers

You may benefit from Revance RHA fillers if you are bothered by dynamic wrinkles and feel they make you appear older than you really are.

Types of RHA Fillers

The RHA line contains three grades of filler products; each number represents the concentration of hyaluronic acid.

RHA2 has the lowest concentration of hyaluronic acid and is used for moderate dynamic wrinkles and folds, such as lines in between the eyebrows or around the corners of the mouth.

RHA3 has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid and is used for deeper dynamic wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds extending from the corners of the nose to the mouth.

RHA4 has the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid and is used for severe dynamic wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds and folds around the jawline or cheekbone area.
