Juvéderm® is an FDA-approved collection of hyaluronic acid fillers manufactured by Allergan, designed to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours with a minimally invasive approach. Types of Juvederm®
- Juvederm® Ultra XC: Juvéderm® Ultra XC is used to treat lines and folds that are mild to moderately deep. The hyaluronic acid particle size is smaller than other varieties of Juvéderm® because the area(s) being injected are close to the surface of the skin.
- Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC: Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC fills deep lines and folds and has a larger hyaluronic acid particle size. Injections are placed deeper into the skin to “plump” the affected area(s) allowing for natural looking results.
- Juvederm Vollure® XC: Juvederm Vollure® XC is made from a uniquely balanced gel to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds in adults over the age of 21, including improvement of infraorbital (under-eye) hollowing.
- Juvéderm® Volux™ XC: Juvéderm® Volux™ XC is the latest addition to the Juvéderm family of fillers. Its unique consistency makes it ideal for recontouring and sculpting the jawline. Carefully placed injections can restore definition to the lower face and soften the appearance of the jowls. - Juvéderm Voluma® XC: Juvéderm Voluma® XC is the ideal dermal filler for contouring and restoring volume to cheeks that have lost fat and fullness due to aging. It can also be used for chin augmentation and as recently as 2024 received approval for treating moderate to severe hollowing of the temples.
- Juvéderm Volbella® XC: Juvéderm Volbella® XC is best at augmenting the lips while also diminishing fine lines around the lips. Because it is a gentler dermal filler, it is also safe to use just below the eyes to help fill in under eye hollows.
- Skinvive™ by Juvéderm®: Skinvive™ by Juvéderm® is a hyaluronic acid microdroplet injectable designed to enhance skin smoothness. In 2026 it received FDA approval for the treatment of horizontal neck lines.
Juvederm fillers contain a small amount of a local anesthetic, lidocaine, to ease minor discomfort. These are labeled with the designation “XC.”
