Procedures:
What is the difference between major and minor surgery? Dr. Maloney says “it is minor if it is happening to someone else, and major if it is happening to you”. Whether it is a BOTOX treatment or a revision rhinoplasty, Dr. Maloney strives to make the procedure as comfortable as possible for his patients. Depending on patient’s preference, wrinkle treatments and smaller surgical procedures may be performed in the office with gentle numbing of the skin. For a patient undergoing multiple procedures, Dr. Maloney generally recommends using a fully licensed and accredited surgery center for patient comfort. A board certified anesthesiologist will discuss the types of anesthesia available from a light twilight to a restful general anesthetic.
Dr. Maloney, known for his skillful and artistic technique, has been chosen as a member of the National Education Faculty (NEF) for Allergan. As an NEF faculty, he has trained physicians from around the world on how to use BOTOX and fillers. He has authored over 80 articles and book chapters on new developments in facial cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Maloney lectures extensively across the United States and World, sharing new techniques in facial cosmetic surgery.
This section on procedures is designed as an introduction to some of the procedures offered at the Maloney Center. Please contact us regarding any additional questions you may have. Additional information will be available in the media section of the web site.
The Consultation:
After reviewing the sections, you may wish to schedule a consultation with Dr. Maloney by calling 770-804-0007, or fill out the online form and the patient coordinator will call you to set up the appointment. The consultation lasts approximately one hour. You will first meet with Dr. Maloney’s knowledgeable patient care coordinator. She will introduce you to the practice and take your pictures. Most patients spend 45-60 minutes with Dr. Maloney during the consultation, discussing their concerns and reviewing various plans that may be appropriate for them. During this time, computer imaging is performed if appropriate. This is an exciting computer application that allows patients to see potential effects of surgery before having it done. This tool, while not a guarantee of surgical results, allows Dr. Maloney and his patients to share a common vision. Patients will also have an opportunity to review additional “before and after” pictures of procedures they are interested in.
If you are a doctor seeking more in-depth information, please visit the “Meet the Doctor” section, or call 770-804-0007 to schedule a training session.
