Q. How long will my recovery take?
 A. It depends on the type of surgery, your age, and your physical health. Swelling normally peaks after 48 hours, and then starts to move away. Depending on the surgery and patient circumstances, people return to activities within a few days,
to weeks.
Q. Will I bruise?
A. Bruising is very individual. Many patients have little to no bruising following surgery. If one is prone to bruising, Herbal supplements may be recommended to reduce the amount of bruising and swelling. Also avoiding aspirin, Motrin,
Ibuprofen and Vitamin E for two weeks before surgery will help.
Q. Are there options other than surgery?
A. Yes, there are options. Botox, which is the gold standard for relaxing the wrinkle, and reduces the appearance of lines. It typically lasts up to 4 months. Dr. Maloney is one of the National Training Centers for BOTOX. He teaches Doctors from around the world how to use BOTOX, to achieve the best natural result. Wrinkle fillers are another popular in-office treatment. Dr. Maloney has a very strong research background having participated on several FDA product investigations and authored over 60 articles and book chapters. He researches the science behind new treatments to determine which ones will be the safest and not have long term consequences.
Q. Will I see Dr. Maloney during my consultation?
A. Dr. Maloney usually spends 30-45 minutes with you to discuss your surgical options. During this time, he will examine you, and will also use computer imaging to let you see the possibilities available to you. Choosing a surgeon is an intensely personal decision. Dr. Maloney is an Internationally recognized facial plastic surgeon, who lectures across the country.
We encourage you to take time to ask the doctor and his staff any questions you may have. We believe the formation of a personal bond is an integral part of the surgery and healing process. Q. Is there a fee for the consultation?
A. Yes, the fee is $100; however that will be applied toward your surgical procedure, if scheduled within 30 days.
Q. What type of anesthesia will I receive?
A. Local, twilight and general anesthesia are options for procedures. You will discuss your medical health and concerns with Dr. Maloney to determine which is the most comfortable and safest for you.
Q. Where are the procedures done?
A. Most of the procedures are performed in an outpatient facility, which is fully licensed and accredited. The Anesthesiologists are Board Certified.
Q. Does Dr. Maloney perform any surgery, other than on the face?
A. Dr. Maloney specializes in facial plastic surgery; however we do refer our patients to Dr.Randall Rudderman www.drrudderman.com, for body plastic surgery and Dr. John Miklos www.lvratlanta.com, for LVR surgery.

Q. What does a Consultation consist of?
A. The consultation is an exciting and informative 1 hour to 1 ½ hour experience. You will meet with Dr. Maloney and discuss your concerns. He will use tools such as the computer imager and patient before and after photos to illustrate the various procedures. Individual results may vary, however these educational tools are generally very helpful in allowing patients to learn about the possible effects of different procedures. Dr. Maloney and his staff will guide you through each stage of the surgical process. The staff will offer you their closest personal attention.
